Destination Marketing Association International, Washington, hired Vickie Singer as its new marketing and communications SVP. She succeeds Kristen Clemens, who joined a healthcare firm (see "Executive Moves," 4/4). Clemens is a past TRENDS Young & Aspiring Association Professional.
Singer was a partner at Edge Consulting for the past four years. Her clients included AARP Travel, National Geographic Travel and the Society of Government Travel Professionals. Earlier she was strategic partnerships VP and general manager for TravelCom at the U.S. Travel Association for three years.
In 2009 she co-founded an association called iFive, which focused primarily on women and minorities in the travel industry, but was open to anyone. (See "New group aimed at women, minorities in travel," 9/2/09.)
