Gary A. LaBranche, FASAE, CAE, will become the new CEO of National Investor Relations Institute, effective March 17.
He will succeed Jim Cudahy, who resigned in June after one-and-a-half years. NIRI VPs Matt Brusch and Mike McGough have been serving as interim staff heads since Cudahy’s departure.
At Association for Corporate Growth, where LaBranche has been CEO since 2008, ACG CFO John O'Loughlin, CAE, will serve as acting CEO while that association commences a search for a new chief staff executive.
Previously, LaBranche was CEO of the Association Forum of Chicagoland. Earlier he was professional development VP at ASAE, and he worked at the U.S. Chamber as the head of its association division. During his career he also worked as a consultant and the president of an education company, all in the association space.
In addition to being honored by Association TRENDS, LaBranche’s other honors include ASAE Fellow in 1995, ASAE Key Award winner for 2007, and he is a member of the U.S. Chamber’s Association Committee of 100.
His immediate key priorities will be to get to know NIRI, its members, chapter leaders, NIRI Fellows, NIRI Senior Roundtable members and staff, and working with the media, regulators, sponsors and other important stakeholders.
Korn Ferry International assisted in the NIRI search.
