According to the 2016 Association CEO Compensation Report, published by Association TRENDS, 26 percent of associations do not offer their chief staff executives a retirement plan. Of the 74 percent that do, the defined contribution plan is by far the most popular retirement plan. This plan, however, is the least popular with assoications that have revenues of between $5-10 million, with only 70 percent offering this plan, while 20 percent offer a qualified deferred compensation plan and 10 percent a defined benefit plan.
