    Association News: 

    Meeting Professionals International again will be strategic partner and premier education provider for IMEX America in October in Las Vegas. MPI provide content for the show's Smart Monday education program on Oct. 12. MPI Foundation will present Rendezvous, the IMEX America Night, a fundraising and networking event for participants.

    Registration is open for ASAE's 2015 Government Relations Symposium, Oct. 29 at the Washington Convention Center, co-located with the ASAE Association Law Symposium.

    ASAE Foundation is accepting applications for the 2016 Innovation Grants Program through Sept. 25. IGP provides monetary awards to support innovation exploration and development in the association community. These grants are funded through a major grant from the SunTrust Foundation and additional support from Whiteford, Taylor, & Preston L.L.P. and other donors. Up to four grants will be awarded in three categories: travel, exploration or hybrid (a combination of travel and exploration). Grant recipients will receive awards up to $10,000.     Green 2.0 launched the "Leadership at Work" web page to celebrate leaders of color in the environmental field. The page will be updated every couple of weeks.

    Boy Scouts of America executive committee this week unanimously voted to lift a ban on gay and bisexual adult leaders. The resolution will become official Boy Scout policy if ratified by the National Executive Board on July 27.

    Barbara A Myers, CAE, association services VP at IMN Solutions, presented at the Council of Engineering and Scientific Society Executives annual meeting, July 15-16 in Norfolk, Va. Her topics included “Developing an Exhibitor Retention Strategy for the New Economic Landscape: 10 Tactics to Take Home,” and “Creating the 365-Day Conference/Extending Conference Content.” Kevin Miller, president of integrated marketing agency Frost Miller, will join Myers as co-presenter of the content marketing session.

    Abby Spatz to chief marketing officer, NYC & Co., New York City's CVB, from head of integrated marketing and communications at Bliss, the spa and beauty brand.

    Meet Puerto Rico was awarded for the third time with the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program seal by Destination Marketing Association International.

    Society for Pediatric Pathology retained Kellen for full-service management of its 700+ member professional organization. SPP will relocate its headquarters from Evans, Ga., to Kellen’s office in midtown Manhattan, New York.

    Cobo Center, the convention center in Detroit, received the Convention Industry Council’s Accepted Practices Exchange certification, by the Green Meeting Industry Council.
